not much else to say. moved here eight months ago and genuinely had no one. joined a plan for a sunday market, the girl who organised it and i ended up walking around for four hours. she's in my phone now as a real contact and not just a plan name. that's the whole review.

my regular trivia team fell apart when two of them moved overseas. posted a plan, got three people, we came second. one of them knew an insane amount about 90s bollywood which won us the tiebreaker. we're doing it again next week. five stars for the bollywood guy alone.

didn't know if it'd be weird or if people would assume i was on it for the wrong reasons. but the group chat before the plan makes it so much more normal. by the time you show up you've already had a conversation. went to a gallery opening with four strangers and it was just... normal. nobody was weird. highly recommend.

was hesitant to use something like this at first for obvious reasons. the women & non-binary filter changed that completely. went on a walk with three other girls i'd never met. one of them is now my gym buddy. so glad they did it properly instead of just as a checkbox nobody sees.

i joined a plan called "dim sum crawl, try every place on the street" with four strangers and we ended up eating for three hours and arguing about which dumplings were the best. we're going back next month to settle it. this app is genuinely so fun and i have no idea why more people aren't talking about it.

knew literally nobody. a friend back home sent me this app. i've now been on six plans — a comedy night, two walks, a board game cafe thing, one very chaotic escape room, and a sunrise swim i still can't believe i agreed to. i have people to text now. that's the whole thing.

i'm quite introverted so the idea of just showing up to meet strangers felt like a lot. but you chat in the app first and by the time you actually meet it feels like you already know each other a bit. went to a vintage fair with two people i'd never met and had the best day. the chat thing is genuinely clever.

which is a low bar but still. been using it for two months and met people i genuinely wouldn't have otherwise. the map is such a good idea — you can just open it on a friday night and see what's actually happening near you. feels like the internet used to feel when it was good.
